time-travelling tuesday (part 13)

11th April 1988
Today I went back to school.  To my horror.  We had those tiddly orange seats.  I wrote a letter to Kim.

12th April 1988
Today I wrote my spellings in my very best writing. [Very neatly written!]

I am a genius. 13th April 1988
Today Miss Murial Mickey came to visit us.  She is learning to be a teacher.  She is Margaret's cousin.

14th April 1988
At school we had a fire practice.  I went to brownies.

16th April 1988
There was a film on TV called Splash it was very good. [Still love that film!]  Mind you I have seen it before.  Some people came to look at the our house.

17th April 1988
At Sunday school we got at juice and biscuits.  I fell over.
Made willie warmer for dad.
PS It did not fit.

  1. Oh, this is so cute - I wish I had my diaries from when I was a kid. I have no idea what happened to them:( Now, I really want to watch Splash again.

    1. I would never say no to Splash! My other childhood diaries are not nearly so entertaining as this one. I'm having such a hoot reliving 1988 :)

  2. Love the totally unexpected pieces of information, like "I fell over." :)

Slightly afraid to ask, but too curious not to - what is a willie warmer?

    1. Ha ha! Hilde, I fear it is exactly what you think! It's a bit like a tubular sock, only smaller, and there would have been no point in me giving one to my mum...if that helps! :)

  3. I have just spluttered my breakfast all over the computer after reading your comments about the willie warmer! It's true - you are a genius!

    1. Yes, but I didn't specify whether it was too large or too small. Dad claims too small!

Hello! I'm sorry that I've had to turn on the word verification feature again, but my inbox was being flooded with very dull spam. Genuine comments always brighten my day though, so thank you for taking the time to leave one :)
